The first campaigning event for ASI candidates, “Coffee with the Candidates” kicked off in front of the CSULB bookstore walkway. Candidates were excited to answer students’ questions and explain their campaign goals. Students were handed a card with five boxes that required a five signatures from candidates.

Drumming and singing echoed through Long Beach State’s upper campus as Native American culture was on full display during the 51st annual Pow Wow weekend. Kicking off Saturday morning, CSULB’s annual Pow Wow highlighted the traditions of Native American people from across the nation, hosting ceremonies and Indigenous vendors.

Isabel Patterson Child Development Center (IPCDC) has struggled to maintain student assistant teachers who are directly tasked in taking care of children. The child development center can hold up to 185 families at a time, said Miles Nevin, associate vice president and executive director of student auxiliary enterprises.

Cal State Long Beach’s fighting game community and Associated Students Incorporated hosted the event, with an open-call invitation for students to participate and enjoy the new release of “Tekken 8.”

California State University’s new tuition increase will rise 6% yearly for the next five years, starting in the fall of the 2024–25 school year for all 23 CSU campuses.
